He is a friendly god like spirit of the forest. I believe he was highly reviered (spelling?) before Christianity came to parts of the british isles. Alot of the cathedrals have his image hidden away in them because as the builders were building and carving they would add a bit of their own imagery to what they were doing.
I wouldnt think it is anything to worry about but it would be interestingto see what this means
