Just a thought, but since he is already there when you meditate....maybe seeing him on the kit is just an affirmation of who he is (like Tinks said) and there is not really the need to invoke him?

Maybe you are seeing him as you have been connecting more with nature and he is here to lead the way...so to speak. I would say that he would make an awesome guide for you.
