I find meditating difficult as well. If there is just silence, I really don't seem to be able to do it. There is one piece of music that I always get better results when I use it. It's called 'Painting The Ocean' and I found it on a free download site. You could probably search for it and try it out.

The only other way I seem to be able to meditate is in bed at night, I put my hands on my stomach and just focus on my breathing. I find when I'm concentrating on my stomach moving up and down, less stray thoughts come along to distract me.

I'm still struggling with meditation, but hopefully with practice, it gets easier.
