I cant even find what specific crime he is charged with. The government swapped some land for a lake. The monastery then sold the land to a Cypriot company. Then some people found out the land was more valuable than the lake, so the politicians involved didnt run for re-election??? giving themselves immunity for making a stupid business descision (some wierd statute of limitation law the politics passed for themselves). Of course stupid business decisions is politics as usual for Greece. So they arrested the abbot for what seems to me, because he outsmarted them, and is simply alot smarter with finances.
