It would be unfair to attribute to the patriotism and even proper national sentiment of the Church such aberrations as this. Orthodoxy is very bound up with the history and destinies of those nations regarded as Orthodox. True, it can be overdone, but this is keenly and deeply felt by Greeks, Cypriots, Serbs and Russians.
