It is good to see that the Armenian Orthodox Bishop Nathan Hovhannisian has leant his support to this ecumenical and Christian gesture by Archbishop Rowan Williams and Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor.

The Armenians have been a substantial community in Israel for many, many years and share in the same pressures which have led so many other communities to suffer a steady decline in numbers. Anything that could relieve those pressures and reverse the decline in the Christian communities of the Holy Land should be supported.
