It was actually illegal to have an abortion under the laws of the Communist regime in Russia. It seems the democratic regime in Russia cares less about the right to life (when it comes to the unborn) then the commie soviets. Even Stalin didnt give women the blanket power to kill their own children.

I'm not sure if Prime Minister Vladimir Putin supports or opposes abortion but I have heard that he is a dedicated Orthodox Christian. Maybe he will stand up against it ?
