My mom and I went to the Grand Palace on the eve of the king's birthday. When we got out, we heard someone talking to us in Thai, asking us if we've bought tickets.

A man dressed in a blue shirt and jeans then came up to us and made small talk with us. He took a look at our tickets and said we could go to Vimanmek and another place of attraction for free as the entrance fees are included in our ticket. He seemed friendly and said he was providing us with free information.

Next, he asked if we've been to the 'big Buddha' and Thai factory. He recommended we take a tuk tuk to these interesting places as it's too far to walk. Then the next minute, a tuk-tuk driver came up but we rejected his offer, saying we were going to grab a bite. In the end, we managed to escape unscathed.

I forgot to mention the price for taking us on a ride was 40B.
