I have to wear sunglasses, and good ones at that, because I wear contact lenses, which let in a lot more light into my eyes and is not healthy for them.

I experienced the same thing when I tried contact lenses. I gave up with the eye itching, watering and constant sunglasses to relieve such and returned joyfully to glasses.
