I think I'd dispute the idea that contacts let more light into your eyes, let alone a lot more. What are the physics for that? If they did, people with contacts would be able to see far better, especially at night, than normal-sighted people!
I'm lazy tonight and don't feel like typing the physiological reasons, so instead I spent 45 seconds to google this.
