Seems like in most places in Asia it's either a fashion statement, as others say, or they are worn by rich and famous people when they are convicted of a crime and have to turn up at court.

hehe, thanks for that comment. ... errrm, but i think its not the sunnys - it her hair style which is the crime aspect on that pic.

hmm, have a look at her nose. ain't there a little gap between the nose and the frame. didnt realize it until i saw one of my thai friends with her sunnies. but i think that cute* gap is the reason.

* since maggy thatcher's not my type, i hope that word is not being misunderstood.
