I don't think everyone is racist by default. Everyone has discriminative thoughts, but being racist is much more than that.

Steve, I too think that many Farang think too much into what they see on the surface, simply because they don't really know much beyond that. I too have seen that city folks like to make fun of upcountry folks, especially when being part of a big group, but once it comes down to one-on-one talk with a close friend, they are just curious about what life is like on that side.

Of course there are bigots who have an inherent dislike towards the group, but it's a minority, I think.
