Default Interesting Thai belief
We just came back from The Impact Complex at Meuang Thong Thani where there is currently a furniture exhibition in progress. I spotted a model of a Spanish Galleon, the type that would have carried the gold and treasures looted by the Spanish in the New World, back to the court of Queen Isabella.

After I paid for it and it was being boxed up, the shop owner put a mark on the box at the end where the ships bow was. She told me that it was imperative that the ship must be carried in to the house bow first, this is to ensure that the ship's cargo was "sailing" into the house with its cargo, whereas if the ship had entered stern first that would mean that the ship was ready to sail off out the door with whatever valuables we have in our house.

These model ships are called Reua Nam Choke àÃ×͹Ó⪤ "The ships that brings luck"
