I would like some information on family life and child protection in Thailand. For instance under what circumstances would a child be given up for adoption? I suspect that it would be linked to poverty and death of parents. Are there many children in the orphanages? I have heard that there are many more boys than girls in orphanages. Is there a cultural reason for this? Is it commonly accepted for Thai people to adopt?
