Royal Thai Language & Thai Language.
Have just been looking at the 'Royal Thai Language' page in the language forum, and I cannot help but wonder if this does not cause problems at all with the ordinary Thai, on the street as it were?
In England we have The Queen's English and Oxford English, but they are virtually the same language, whereas Royal Thai and Thai appear, at least at first glance, very different.
I can understand the development of dialects, we have more of those here than ever, but two languages?
Is there a reason? Does it cause problems?
(Asked out of genuine interest and with no disrespect intended)
