from what i gather, i can visit her as many times as i can in 6 months but cannot spend more than 90 days in Thailand. however each time i enter, i cannot stay more than 30 days.

please correct me if i am wrong

That is my understanding of the rules, others may interpret them differently. Be aware though that 30 days means you must leave on the 29th day following entry - leaving 30 days after entry means that at passport control you will be taken to see an Imigration Officer who will write something in your passport, though there is no fine unless you overstay by 2 or more days, I speak from experience.
