Usually, here, I would wait for the Christening or Baptism to offer a gift,
is there any such equivalent in Thailand?
There is usually a fire shaving ceremony after one month:

Traditionally, you would give gold and also maybe some money in a red envelope. For myself, I gave a "gold" Buddha representing the day the baby was born.
