One of the senior police officers was quoted as saying that, "After the conference, I ordered the policeman to find out who this woman was. And we found that she's a bank staff member under probation period. And her father is nobody - he is not an influential person. She's just a Chinese-Thai."
I don't agree with her behavior, but if one of our senior police officers made a quote similar to the above, he would probably be put on suspension.
Yes, misterA he would be if he was in the US. But the way I see it is that he decides to call her bluff and wants to see who this bratty woman really is. You see this intimidating tactic goes on all the time in Thailand and the poor police offecer is trying to do his job and is confronted with the threat of loosing the job because he is unfortunate enough to run into the wrong woman with a big connection. What is even sadder is that some foreigners have learned this kind of behavior and have used it succesfully and are proud of it.
I think the thing here is the mentioned of "She's just a Chinese-Thai.". Whats it got to do with anything about being a "Chinese-Thai"? Is he saying Chinese-Thai are more arrogant? How about being a "Lao-Thai"? Or "Cambodian-Thai"? Or "American-Thai"? Or "Australian-Thai"? Or simply "Thai-Thai"?

It also left me wondering what if the woman turned out to have a powerful father, will the senior officer support his junior or leaving him hanging out to dry?
I think you're a Thai right? I think you know the answer of your question.
