Default Oh, we can ignore the Policemen
Have you ever witnessed, when driving on the roads in Bangkok or out-country, cars, motorcycles and even huge trucks such as containers almost running down the policemen who tried to stop them for a check? These vehicles ignored the policemen and just drove on accelerating, resisting the police stops. There after, the policemen only cursed and swear in the midst of traffic, arms all over, helpless.

Does that mean, if I know I am speeding and the policeman tries to stop me, I don’t care and just roar away leaving him to smell my exhaust fumes is being perfectly normal in Thailand? This is kind of ridiculous.

I have been stopped for speeding many times and my conscious always made me stop to pay the THB$200 fine (with receipt issued).

I asked my Thai friends about this and they said it’s the norm, police won’t track you down. Why ain’t there rules that the police cold remember your license plate and therefore arrest you at home? Is there or is there no such law in Thailand?
