I was in a marine park once and found some nice pieces of coral washed up on the beach. I wanted to take them home to decorate my garden but was told it is illegal to take it away. This was Koh Samet.
I was quite surprised since it is basically dead stuff on the beach; like taking a pine cone from a forest.
