The problem with the short trips, to and from Bangkok, is that they don't start making more money until they complete one leg and start the return.
The more legs they complete in a day, the more money they make.

I am afraid that just about any van or bus you find on these trips will have a similar driver.
In my many trips to Ayutthaya, I can't remember one that I didn't kiss the ground when we reached our destination!
