Well as I have mentioned before my favorite counties to visit are Sweden and Japan, and have lived in Japan for a few years as part of my business. Now Thailand is a great place, as well. But I go to Thailand not only because it is good but it is cheap. I would upgrade Thailand to a higher position, if it was a little cooler, I'm not a hot person, I know some people like the heat, but that not me.
Australia is also better than average, but nothing to rave about. The reasion I live in Australia is because my parents and my friends live here, not because I think it is better. Perhaps you have only been to Bangkok or thereabouts?

Heard of the Swede who recently died in Chiangmai due to being caught out in the cold as he was so drunk that he fell asleep outside his house? And Chiangrai (where my gal lives), at the northern most part of Thailand is even colder/cooler! And I am equally comfortable in ChiangRai as I am in Bangkok. Who cares, as long as we are together I think the death might be more to being drunk than the cold. When you're drunk, your natural defense to the cold is weakened and you give off way more heat (hence the flush of the face).

I'm originally from the state of Montana in the US so I'm use to both the cold and the heat. Some winters we go as low if not lower than -40C and in the summer we can hit up in the 40s. However Montana is a very dry place (winter it's all in the snow and no rain from June to September). For me, I can't stand humidity at either temp extreme .
