Great topic!

Stacker, you covered a wide base of Farang needs on that list. I wonder what our other fellow expats think about this... I guess the extent varies with the individual.

I'd cross out quite a few entries on the list though: all the alcoholic stuff, the film and digital prints, noodles, phone calls from booth (have local cell phone), English books (only language books now, lol), clothing (get new clothes from the US).. gas (driving in Bkk? No way!!) Movies (nah... games instead), Tylenol.

but every deleted item results in some additional expense of a different kind: Green tea (20 baht); phone card for cell phone (300 baht) , public transport (?), Internet card (~300 baht); games for PC (?);

Quote[/b] ]Second-hand motor bike 20,000 - 40,000 baht
Hmmmm??? Though Stacker didn't say, I thought we are talking about things bought on a regular basis (see list on top).

I don't see anything wrong with eating Western food in Thailand. I do it occasionally too. Its a nice change, after stuffing myself silly with the local delicacies. Even my Thai friends who've been to the US for half a year, they too ate home (Thai) food, not only what the locals eat.
