No, it's illegal in Thailand to be married to several persons at the same time. However, in the western world when you go to church, you automatically gets registered as married by your government. This doesn't happen if you do the traditional Thai ceremony. Ergo, you have to do the government registration of your marriage separate. So... In Thailand you can get "married" as many times as you like, but you can only do the official wedding registration once. There are MANY thais around who's got multiple wives and husbands. The Thais seems not to care about previous marriages as long as it's not registered by the government. Is this understandable? English isn't my first language as you probably see
