self-employed work visas and married visas?
Hi All
As usual not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but if it isn't I'm sure it will be moved to where it should be (who said the rubbish bin?)
When I was last in the Kingdom I got chatting to a farrang (didn't know him then and doubt I'll ever see him again) one afternoon about the house he had built a couple of years ago, and showed me some lovely photos of him and his wife there. He told me he had set up a Thai company and that company owned the house as he (being a farrang) was not allowed to, all information I had read before.
He also told me the next day he was doing his visa run to Cambodia, I didn't think anything of it at the time, most ex-pats I spoke to mentioned visa runs at some point. But it has only just crossed my mind. If he has a Thai company, would he not also have a work permit for this company and therefore not need to do the visa run? And what about his wife? I'm sure I read somewhere if you a married you don't need to leave the country to update you visa.
Am I missing something or is it this chap that has missed the point?
