I accept the logic that the dog can be a menace to uninformed kids & other people in the area.

I guess, its just that I have many a kind stray dogs around my house who have a very good relationship with me and so I kind of feel like defending their kinds somewhat. In fact these dogs trust me so much that they will not move an inch even if my car tire is an inch away from their body... and I have to often ask them to get up!!
