What most impressed me the first time I set foot in Thailand?
Just had a good long think, and, I believe that, after the smiles at the airport from the very friendly officials, it was the speedy drive into the city center, hotel was oppsite the National Stadium, and it took just 20 minutes. Wide clean dual carriageway, little traffic, smiling policemen on point duty, even salutes from a couple of them.
Yes, this was all a very long time ago, and, regretably, has never been the same since!
Still love it though, probably always will.
