How very right you are, my wife cooks thai when ever she wants to, but would rather have me cook and she knows it gonna be farang food, farang style with farang spices [if I can get em]
I like Korean food and Mexican food as well as any in the world, like most chinese and fillipino, indian is not bad along with most mid east food, But I can live on american food exclusively.
Nothing like wrapping around a nice thich quality beef steak, mashed potatoes, sawmill gravy and some pinto beans and peas,carrots and corn, my Thai family eats that as well as any Thai food.
Impossible to get a good pizza in Thailand, I have tried it in CM, Pattaya and BKK, and if you served that pizza in any resturant in america, they would burn your place down. The worst I have ever had was right here in Phetchabun at a Thai Pizza Co. shop, which is the only one in town. We are a small town with a KFC and that is all for farang food.[+ the TPC shop of coarse But you couldn't call that farang or food for that matter.]
And just because food is nasty and dirty does not mean that you will get sick, or getting sick does not mean that the food was dirty or nasty, If some one blew his nose on your hamburger and you ate it does not mean you will get sick,[unless you find out about it]
The main reason I don't eat from vendors or in most Thai eaterys is because they are not clean and the fact that I do not like the flavors or textures of Thai cuisine.
