More plugging in
The earlier post
Plugging In
addresses the question of taking USian appliances (110) to Thailand and how to deal with the power difference.
The question here is: What do Thais (and others abroad) do when they want to use their Thai appliances (220~240) in the United States? Specifically, how do they/you recharge your Thai cell phone?
RadioShack electronics store has a couple of step-up converters that range from US$80-$115 (3,200-4,600 baht)! Are such converters available cheaper in Thailand? If so, where? If not, what do Thai people do in such a situation?
