Although we are already officially married, we are having the ceremony in Chiang Mai in December. There is a company that we are going through that does almost everything for us including providing traditional Thai wedding costumes for the couple and the guests, classical Thai musicians,professional photographer, video photographer, wedding night accomodation in a traditional Thai house, fruit platter and French sparkling wine in honeymoon suite, a feast for 20 people, transfers and consular paperwork help. The cost is 69000 Baht, or about USD1700. You can also have an elephant as part of the wedding parade but that is extra.
We were going to have it in my wife's home town of Roi Et but with the SinSot and the party that I would undoubtably be expected to pay for, we just felt safer going for this option.
It looked like eveybody within ten miles was getting ready for a huge party at my expense, and that didn't sound like much fun to me.
