When I see western men and women with tattoos, for better or for worse, I automatically develop a profile of them.

When I see men with tattoos, I see them as rebels openly asserting their individuality.

When I see women with tattoos, they are also rebellious, but it seems even more so. To me, I see them as sending nonverbal communication that they are sexually "open-minded" or unihibited (read to mean: kinky, bisexual or lesbian). That is my perception here in America and I doubt that opinion differs too far from that of others here.

My question is -- if I see Thai women wearing tattoos, how far off the mark would my western profile of tattoo-wearing western women be when I apply that same profile to tattoo-wearing Thai women?
