Default Building sandcastles
Most backpackers who are in Thailand during Songkran think this holiday is just one long big water fight. But, there is more to Songkran than just waterfights. The day started early this morning (13th April) with giving food to the monks. In Samut Prakan, the main road was closed so that people could make an offering to 200 monks. A few hours later the parade started led by Nang Songkran. In the afternoon, in many temple grounds, people built sand pagodas and made merit to dead ancestors.
