IPOH - He allegedly used two knives and stabbed his 40-year-old father more than 10 times in the chest and abdomen.

Then, the Malaysian teen drove his father's new Mercedes-Benz to a nearby playground and dumped the murder weapons there.

The 15-year-old then called the police and told them that his father had been found dead after a burglary at their home.

But his lies were exposed after police saw cuts on his arms and questioned him, China Press reported. He was arrested on the spot.

The murder happened after a heated argument at their home in Simpang Pulai in Ipoh, Perak, on Tuesday.

The teen and his father suspect have not been named.

The police said that the boy was upset that his father was allegedly hitting his mother, and that he admitted to stabbing his father because of the abuse.

Police believe that the teen sustained those cuts during the struggle with his father.

The couple also have a 13-year-old son.

The mother and the younger son were away visiting her parents when the crime took place.

Perak CID chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim told The Star that the victim was found inside a bedroom with stab wounds on the abdomen.

He said the police recovered two bloodstained knives at the playground after the boy's confession.

He said: "Police also seized a Mercedes-Benz, which was believed to have been driven by the boy to the playground to dispose of the knives.

"The boy will be remanded for seven days to assist in our investigations.

The teenager's relatives said he was a good student and had good grades in school.

He had been on the school hockey team.

When reporters met the victim's elder brother at the mortuary, he expressed shock over the incident. He said that he last saw his brother a week ago at a dinner.

"There was nothing amiss and all of us were in a jovial mood," he was quoted as saying.
