Certain quarters not involved in the incident had alleged that it was over racial issues.

George Town, Malaysia, February 11, 2012

Malaysian cops have warned those not involved in the KFC fracas in Shah Alam not to meddle in the incident.

It sparked an online debate over an issue of racialism after a Chinese customer was alleged to have been assaulted by a KFC staff.

Deputy IGP Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar told the media:"This is a problem between the customer and the company and parties who are not involved should not interfere or try to instigate the situation."

Malaysian media had splashed news of the fight between the customer and restaurant staff after the outlet ran out of fried chicken.

But certain partiesalleged that it was caused by racial issues.

Datuk Khalid said the issue could be resolved "through discussions between the parties involved, without any outside interference".

Meanwhile, Selangor police deputy chief Datuk A. Thaiveegan said investigations into the case would be completed in a week.

He said the police had recorded statements by staff of the restaurant.
