You go to any corporate meeting involving foreigners and if the Singaporean is not the ranking person or leader of the Singaporean delegation in the room, he will not speak up if it involves a contentious issue. Singaporeansn are noted for their quiet compliance coupled with industry and high quality of work. Arguing a point of view, facing up to patently wrong measures and fighting for the meek is is completely foreign to a Singapore. Its does mean his moral campass is missing, confrontation and engagement has been worked out of the DNA.

You just have to look at this forum. Even the ones with quality will take sides as they do not want to offend anyone. When banning occurred, suddenly it was small matter. As bus 64 never bothered to suck up to anyone, he became toast.
