One side of US is close ally to Israel. But the other side is US idea of democracy and free speech.

Last 30 years they can wave that democracy flag but yet close one eye over dictators from Egypt to Saudi Arabia. Kuwait.

But now cannot close one eye because people on streets voicing opinion. So cannot close eye anymore. Israel on the other hand cannot maintain this hardline because it creates even more enemies.

Just look at Iran. Even with all the sanctions in the world, the country is going to build a nuclear bomb. When you have a large country with $ and smart people they can and will get a bomb. So instead of ostracizing Iran why not talk and deal with them. There is no choice.
