Cheras apartment explosion: Police nab 45-yr-old man

KUALA LUMPUR: A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection to the explosion at an apartment in Desa Tun Razak, Cheras, on Aug 29 that killed two people. Kuala Lumpur CPO Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Muhammad Sabtu Osman said in statement Friday that a tip-off from a member of the public led to the arrest of the man at 6am in Sungei Buloh.

He said police would be investigating the man’s involvement in the explosion. In the 8.30am incident, Goh Weng Sing, 38, and Ng Siew Hong, 51, had been asked by their employer to check a parcel that had been left at the employer's apartment doorstep. The parcel, which contained a home-made bomb, exploded when opened, causing the duo to suffer extensive burns. Ng died hours later while Goh died two days later.
