Actually, what he said was spot on. I think you mistook it as saying that religious fundamentalists ARE in charge of Canada and the US. I think he's just saying that if it were to happen, we're really no better. Historically, it's sort of proven that evil leaders can make an otherwise good society evil in its shadow.
