Enlightened-humane are two different things. Given fundamentalist mindset I would say that stoning is more humane and the Iranian fundamentalist are more enlightened than others who carry out less humane method of death sentences. I should add that this sentence not enlightened in my opinion, nor is stoning humane.

Enlightened-humane... Frankly, I'm not sure what the standard would be today in this world. The US has the death penalty and we torture people. However, we don't sentence people to death with torture. Is that humane but not enlightened? Or enlightened and not humane?

I gotta go.
Yes, enlightened and humane are two different things. I never said otherwise. I would not use either to describe killing someone by throwing rocks at them. Bonus opinion, I would also not use either word to describe the U.S. prison system killing someone by lethal injection/the gas chamber/electric chair.

Regardless of that fact, looking at people killing people with rocks and saying "well it's more enlightened than putting them in a bag with cats and beating them to death!" is crazy and I'm amazed that anyone could hold that position in any way that is not either completely dishonest or certifiably insane.
