Quite so. And in addition, in the "you break it, you own it" department, it was the United States that developed the notion of a partition in 1945 and imposed the arbitrary and silly 38th parallel dividing line. We put the South Koreans (and the North Koreans, for that matter) in this unstable position - we owe them.
