that's the minimum alcohol concentration it has to have to be called palinka. i went to a palinka tasting while in budapest and didn't find the ones with more alcohol to be "better".

Come over the Matra to the Carpathians, find a small village and the hostinec and ask for palanka. It's not about taste it about the experience.
