I'm not a lawyer but "the constitution is a mess" is not a legal basis for overthrowing an elected official.
His crime was nothing more than enacting a referendum that at it's core was a non-binding opinion poll. A legal action under the terms of the "messy", yet legally binding, Honduras constitution.
But you say that since it was carried out with the blessing of the far-right Supreme Court stacked to the ceiling with the business elite and implemented by the generals who are financed, trained, and supported by the United States on various levels, the non-coup was a perfectly acceptable course of action?
