Yes. After two centuries without a pirate taking an American ship, I think it's time for someone to go Jefferson on their asses.

(I suggest looking up the USS Bainbridge, which was on scene, and learning about its namesake.)

He is buried in Center City Philadelphia, and there is a street in South Philly which honors his name.
