the hudson flight was due to a flock of birds. Turkish airlines actually had one of the better maintenance and safety records around. wasn't the buffalo, ny pilot error?

It appears to be icing-related, based on the info released so far. The only thing more dangerous to an aircraft than icing is a massive fire or major structural failure e.g. wings ripping off. The only pilot error appears to be the failure of the pilots to disable autopilot and take manual control, although I tend to doubt that would have changed the outcome, if the aircraft has iced up to the degree speculated in media reports. All that could change and we may find out it was something else, when the NTSB releases the report late this year or next.
