Its a dick measuring contest. The guy with the brightest blinding headlights wins. Nothing you can do about it, its a DR thing. The positive is that when you go out and buy eyeball burning headlights the others will recognize you as "the man" and will dim their lights. If they dont dim you are simply not bright enough and are not a real player. Other positive is that you will see the occassional horse, cow, person, moto, etc on the dark roads.

The problem is there are very few street lights (that work) and the lines on the roads...if they exist...are either void of reflective material or old.

I understand the need for really bright lights. What I don't understand is courtesy of not dimming them. THAT's Dominican. But I don't think THEY think they're being rude.
