Ah yes, Hincha, the birthplace of Pedro Santana. 100 years ago it was still part of the DR. My, how things change.

By the way, wouldn't be easier if you stayed in San Juan de la Maguana (it has the most decent lodgings between it and Hinche) and then drive (or be driven) over there.

Never mind. Once he highway crosses the border, it becomes worthy for only donkeys and SUVs.
