This is one thing I could never understand. If someone breaks into your home and you feel that your life and those of your loved ones are threatened with either physical harm or even death, you will probably be in serious trouble for defending yourself and your family. I don't understand this concept.........
What if the intruder(s) are seriously hurt or mortally wounded with another type of weapon?.......

Maybe it's a throwback to Napoleonic Code days, but in the DR, if you kill a person, be it an intruder o even in self-defense, you will be charged for homicide, until you can prove in a court of law that there were extenuating or mitigating circumstances that may call for dismissal.
