I have never heard of anyone paying an overstay fee before they leave, so I dunno how that will turn around and I personally wouldn't trust it not to have to be paid again when he actually does leave in Oct. You pay your fee/tax passport gets stamped and off you go, I don't recall any paperwork changing hands at that point no, tell me if I'm wrong? So I don't understand this process, seems weird no, and new to me It might have had a change since I last paid a legit exit tax.
