My understanding is the medical is scheduled AFTER all the required documents are assembled.

And it's only good for 30 days (someone correct me if I'm wrong, please...)

This is how it was done when I got my residency, both, provisional and permanent, many years ago. But who knows, with all this confusion and last minute grace periods at the moment, maybe they let you get started anyway. Again, time to contact HB as suggested.
