If he President Ma grants a presidential pardon, he may very well lose more votes than he gains.

When you wear a GREEN cap and think again, the green supporters will be happier to see presidential pardon to that corrupt Ah Bian and hence some reconciliations.

President have the power to commute the sentences, that is to give discount to convicts such as Ah Bian. So he can adjust the percentage of discount to a level of balance that he don't piss off too many blue voters and gain some from the green side.

That's how everyone in Taiwan see how Ah Bian will get his ass out of jail eventually.

I still think the corrupt deserve to face treason charge for his legal action to demand Obama to exercise occupation of Taiwan and take sovereignty of it. This is too serious, as he is an ex-president, not just any Ah Beng or man on the street, he is Ah Bian, he was a big time lawyer, he is not IMH patient. If he can fuck around with sovereignty like this as ex-president, and still get away with it. It is the biggest international laughingstock ever.
